PLAYER CHARACTER
As part of a university project I was tasked with designing, modelling and texturing the player character for a game titled: "Nectar Quest". The player character from the original brief was a regular, ordinary butterfly, but I thought designing the character as a Stallone/Schwarzenegger-styled action hero would make for a more visually interesting character, as well as a more fun and imaginative game.
The character had several design iterations before the final design was settled and the final model was created and textured using Autodesk 3DS Max and Photoshop.

The original design concept for the character. This design was deemed too serious and not fun and charming enough as a player character for a game aimed towards children.
The character was redesigned to be more of a caricature and less humanoid to give more of a cartoonish feel to the character.
Exploring the possibility of adding insect-like carapace to the character but was scraped in order to keep the model to a low polygon count. Emphasising the chin was also explored in order to make the character seem more heroic like a comic book hero.
